Skip to main contentPrecision boosts for ProConnect, Drake, and CCH — plus cleaner PDFs
Period: 2026-02-23 - 2026-03-01
- ProConnect W-2 multi-state support: Enter multiple state/local rows on a single W-2 and reliably capture state/city withholdings (Boxes 15–20). We also clear ProConnect’s auto-filled Social Security/Medicare amounts to 0 when appropriate, preventing incorrect payroll tax totals.
- Drake Schedule A itemization and education credit fixes: Drake now supports itemized entries for Schedule A medical expenses and personal property tax, reducing manual roll-ups. We also corrected key Form 8863 student credit fields (state code, student ID, and AOTC/LLC checkboxes) to match Drake’s inputs and values.
- Drake 1099-PATR dedicated screen: Added a precise 1099-PATR input screen with a required routing field so income flows to the correct schedule. We removed duplicate routing paths to avoid double counting on Schedules C/F and ensure QBI flows correctly.
- Schedule E rental accuracy improvements: We reorganized Schedule E so expenses post to the correct section, added missing repairs fields, and warn if income is missing when expenses exist. Address-aware guidance prevents pulling rent from an unrelated 1099-MISC when multiple properties are present.
- CCH output PDFs available for every prep: You can now always view and download a CCH output PDF after data entry, even when the source is XML. Our workflow auto-converts the CCH XML to a PDF and surfaces it in the output section for quick client deliverables.
- Fair billing for foreign accounts: FBAR (FinCEN 114) is no longer included in credit assessment, preventing Advanced-tier charges on returns without foreign accounts. This keeps billing aligned with actual return complexity.
